Hi Mark,

I don't know if you remember my husband and I, but we talked to you about John Travolta and his doing nothing about his son's autism. Well, I have some bad news... My husband Tim Kenny shot and killed himself on March 30,2008. It has been a such a difficult time for me and my daughter and I thought of you today and I wanted to let you know. He was very proud that the story got out and he really felt it was helping. I thank you for everything you did because it made him smile many times.

Scientology will no doubt blame Mr. Kenny's tragic suicide on "evil psychiatrists," but, on behalf of everyone at Hollywood,Interrupted, I'd like to extend our deepest collective sympathy and warmest thoughts to the surviving family of a man we only knew by his powerful words and courageous actions.

The article should have included comment as well from Mark C. Ebner, one of the book's authors, who denies that the book contains fabrications. The Times regrets the error.Text
