UPDATE: THE SCIENTOLOGY VULTURES HAVE LANDED AT VIRGINIA TECH! - April 18, 2007

scientology_vt_ie.jpg
The criminal cult literally has VT in their crosshairs.

As quoted in today's Daily News Rush & Molloy column, Scientology's anti-psychiatry front group spokeswoman says, "We prohibit our people from proselytizing."

Hollywood, Interrupted calls BULLSHIT, and can now release an internal Scientology memo proving that proselytizing at the shooting tragedy site is exactly what they are doing.

As first posted on the excellent anti-Scientology clearing house site Xenu.net, here is an excerpt from the cult's current recruitment and publicity campaign:

E M E R G E N C Y B U L L E T I N :

THE WAY TO HAPPINESS CAMPAIGN, VIRGINIA TECH

Please help us get The Way to Happiness books to the students, faculty, and members of the community of Blacksburg, VA following the tragic school shooting yesterday at Virginia Tech.

The message of The Way to Happiness book is not only pertinent, but needed at this time of crisis and healing...

SEE THE ENTIRE INTERNAL MEMO HERE!

This is a new low even for scientology. How sick.

I was "in" Scientology for 30 Years, and escaped out (Literally) in July of 2000.
For years I was one of the morons who would go "Help" with their BS "Volunteer Ministers" Programs. Actually, I believe I began to wake up after giving out clothes and "The Way To Happiness" booklets, after the big Earthquake, here in LA.
I'll never forget the Executive in charge of this: ALL she could ask was, "DID WE GET ANY PRESS OR GOOD MEDIA ON THIS?"

I thought to myself, "What about the people? Don't these people care at all?"

A few years later I realized the answer to that question, and soon after left Scientology forever.

My love and blessings to all the families and students,

Tory Christman
Burbank, CA
X-Scientologist

I'm sick and tired of Scientology bashing. I saw these guys helping with Katrina and they were working harder that most anyone I else there. And they got way more done.

Just stop it, go find someone else to pick on!

To hell with the devil.

Posted by: Tom Cruise at April 19, 2007 04:58 AM

There is nothing lower than praying on emotionally weak in time of crisis...I'm sure they purposely do this, as from a psychological standpoint this is when people are most vulnerable to suggestion.

I can't believe people are stupid enough to actually become members of this cult. You really need to take leave of your faculties to believe the crap these people spew.

These people are scum and should be treated as such.

Posted by: mekongcola at April 19, 2007 05:57 AM

No idiot, this is the cult who kills people who cant properly escape.

Posted by: Anonymous at April 19, 2007 07:22 AM

Tory is a Scientologist.

Posted by: piltdown at April 19, 2007 12:57 PM

I am a Senior at Virginia Tech, and I can tell you that the Scientologists are here. Yesterday they just walked around campus without being obtrusive, but today they set up a bright yellow tent about 100 yards from the memorial. Sick. They can leave and take the f-ing media with them.

Posted by: Christie at April 20, 2007 01:10 PM

That bright yellow tent is occupied by people who can do more for the community of Blacksburg than anyone else. While most organizations are simply sympathizing, Scientology volunteer ministers are actually on site and offering help. Why don't you honestly find out for yourself instead of taking the word of those who don't help.

Scientology is a very greedy cult. It is sick beyond belief that they continue to be vultures at scenes of tragedies handing out booklets written by L. Ron Hubbard and trying to get people involved in Scientology.

These people do NOTHING to actually help the victims. They provide completely worthless "touch assists" and "nerve assists" that were prescribed by Hubbard who flunked out college before he became a poor science fiction writer and a greedy and abusive cultist.

Get the hell out of Virginia and go back to Los Angeles and Clearwater, FL.

Posted by: Simkatu at April 22, 2007 05:16 PM

Stan: other organizations have sent flowers, donated to our memorial fund, have sent banners covered by the words of people who care about us. Other religious organizations have sent chaplains but they are allowing people to come to them. They're identified by the vests that say CHAPLAIN across the back. They're in churches and in contact with our university's counseling center. I'm glad that the media has paid little mind to your presence here because that would give you vultures the attention you seek.

Get out of our town and don't come back.

Posted by: Hokie Girl at April 25, 2007 07:34 AM

Hokie Girl, be a brave lass. Go down to the VM tent and simply receive an assist (whether you really need it or not), and find out for YOURSELF if scientologists are really the big bad wolves they are said to be. Yes I am a scientologist, but I am also a Marshall Thundering Herd fan. I tell you that so you might be somewhat assured that I am quite familiar with university tragedies and therefore not looking to "prey" on anything.

Posted by: stan at April 25, 2007 06:12 PM

Stan, you fucker. Don't talk to me about bravery. You are obviously nowhere near my beautiful town. Bravery, Strength, and Love are what everyone in the community have been trying to show each other since this happened. I was offered a nerve assist on the street the other day, which I turned down because a) I rarely let strangers invite themselves to poke me, and b) there's actually a team of volunteer masseuses here who don't deliver an unsolicited spiritual message.
(Since you're from Marshall, sorry we kind of bogarted your whole "We Are School Name" thing. I think we're trying to officially switch it over to "We are the Hokies" or "We will prevail".)

Posted by: Hokie Girl at April 26, 2007 07:21 PM

Stan, the facts are clear in what they are trying to do. First CCHR emails its members asking for any money they can send.

They tell their members and put out press releases saying the school, the Red Cross and other have urgently asked them to come and help. No such thing ever happend. It was a bold lie and they were caught.

I agree the VM's there are good people who feel they are helping. But their idea of help is to keep trama victims from seeing real doctor's and therpist who have been trained to help them.

Has even one VM told anyone to visit the schools mental health clinic? Or walked with them so they would not be alone when they visit a pych doctor?

I would really love to know the answer to that.

Did anyone else notice that stan's and Christie's messages were identical? There must be a canned response somewhere for 'church' members to spam on the blogs.

Posted by: Alan at April 28, 2007 08:06 AM

Alan, it wasn't Christie - the post credit is below each entry.

It was Stan and Anonymous, with the repeat post 2 minutes later. That said..

When I was ~19/20 years old, an ex-boyfriend that disappeared a year to the day started calling myself and friends wanting our addresses and phone numbers; he wouldn't respond to our hellos, and when we wouldn't provide him information, he explained that he was now a Scientologist and denounced homosexuality, etc, etc.

This wasn't the end, though.. for the next couple nights, he drove to our homes at midnight to "talk"; none of us answered the door and told him each time not to return. The last time he did it, I heard the car reposition it's self near the house. My father and I answered the door armed and told him his life was in dangerous, and to never return.

I have no doubt scientology advocates stalking and the making of "lists".

It is so discomforting to see how many celebs have signed up for this. But maybe it takes an insane faith/ego to be a super star.

A cult has positioned it's self at VT. I would hope VT proactively connects with any staff/students that engage in the carnival tent.

Posted by: ANDY at April 28, 2007 12:36 PM

JeraldR:

Why would a scientologist help someone go to a psych doctor at a mental health clinic? Google psychiatric cures and see if you can find ONE. I'm not familiar with the press release you mentioned. Do you have a link?

It amazes me how so many people, who know little if anything about scientology, simply echo what they've heard from anti scientolgy websites. Examples:
"Cult", "insane faith/ego", "stalking", "lists", nerve assists = "pokes", "vultures",etc.

Every single time I hear these things, I can be certain of what I suspected from the beginning...you simply have no experience concerning scientology and no true knowledge of it. Simply amazing.

Bad taste is bad taste.

Posted by: Different Stan at April 29, 2007 10:46 PM

I have read more then the websites on scientology and it is very much a cult, any so called religion that you have to escape from is a cult. No, not everyone has to escape, only the ones who are deep into the cult. Tom Cruise is just a celebrity head, someone they can use to draw fans into the cult. When they can prove that the alien spaceships landed here 75 million years ago and that it is not just the fictitious imagination of a man like H. G. Wells, then maybe they have something. Goes to show how weak minded people are to believe this garbage.

Posted by: inez at May 1, 2007 07:52 PM

The reason that Cho killed and people suffered is simple; many people (although this is changing) are confused.
Scientology is the only way to cure this. Other religions that have been around longer have obviously failed to stop senseless violence (look at your history books).
I therefore encourage everyone to stop by our little yellow tent, or even our website, for a happier, more peaceful future.

Posted by: Ron at May 6, 2007 01:46 PM

Oh yeah, even though the Church of Scientology trades in DENYING people the happy future they promise. If they're not fucking your body over with quack pseudomedicine and denying you the medical care you NEED, they're ruining the jobs and lives of their detractors through the "dead agent" files.
Yes, organised religions start wars. But on a person level they help people COPE with the shit they have to deal with every day. Scientology TELLS you you're better and expects that to MAKE you better.
Conversely, my psychiatrist taught me how to deal with my depression and anxiety, and my husband's bipolar mood disorder, and helped us get on with out lives.
To Scientologists we were a couple of PTSs who "misunderstood a word" in the tech, and THAT was why we were unhappy.
Psychiatry succeeds where Scientology fails - oh gee, who would have expected that? Fuck you.
