THE PELICAN BRIEFS: Linda Fiorentino, Hollywood P.I. - May 30, 2006

Just when we were ready to write off the sexy star of the serviceable thriller "The Last Seduction" and the lamentable "Jade" as yet another screen siren-turned-middle-aged-shrew, Hollywood,Interrupted has learned that the revitalized Linda Fiorentino has been snooping around the seedy world of Hollywood's favorite jailhouse private dick, Anthony Pellicano.

Fiorentino (who hasn't appeared in a film since 2002) has, in the last half decade, found herself in and out of bed professionally with a registered sex offender doubling as a movie producer, the shady "pit bull" attorney Marty Singer and the incarcerated "Pelican's" estranged wife and tell all-author, Kat Pellicano.

Several years ago, Fiorentino was reportedly attached to star in a movie to be produced by a Megan's Law website hall-of-famer, convicted child molester Sidney Kiwitt - the creep who, according to a UPI report allegedly raped and sodomized an 11-year-old girl four times in 1997. After serving a plea bargained year in prison, Kiwitt was back in business arranging financing for his movie to follow-up the irony of his first and only produced feature, "Silent Lies" - the 1996 direct-to-video thriller about - get this - a teenage girl's relationship with her abusive father.

The financing for Kiwitt's sophomore effort reportedly went south, and the enraged actress (Fiorentino) reportedly enlisted bully barrister Marty Singer to collect compensation owed to her. But, in a conflict of interest-inspiring scenario, Singer also allegedly represented the director of the failed film project and - while managing to get him a compensatory award - reportedly left the ill-favored actress high and dry without remuneration.

To say that Fiorentino developed a revenge hard-on for Marty Singer would be an understatement. Source tells Hollywood, Interrupted that the actress became obsessed with the idea that Singer might get indicted in the legal scandal erupting around hack PI Anthony Pellicano's notorious wiretapping escapades. In her effort to dig up dirt on Singer, Fiorentino reportedly befriended the Pelican's ex-wife, Kat Pellicano.

According to source, Kat welcomed Fiorentino into her life, but was immediately put-off when the actress showed up at her home with a video camera and began suspiciously taping her children. Next, their friendship fell out completely when Kat reportedly caught Fiorentino attempting to hack into her personal computer, presumably in an effort to damn the attorney that allegedly short-shrifted her.

Fiorentino and Kat Pellicano did not speak for about a year-and-a-half, but they reportedly reunited in the last couple of months over another opportunity involving Kat's efforts to bring the aptly titled tell-all memoir Listening In to the publishing marketplace.

Fiorentino reportedly hooked Kat Pellicano up with writer Ellen Feig to handle the inevitable ghost writing gig (Feig denies this), and has unofficially attached herself to play Kat in a potential movie to be based on the same project.

Fiorentino playing the wife of Hollywood's most infamous tough guy clown would be make the jailbird PI proud. Over his obsession with a famous Fiorentino character, the Pelican reportedly used to affectionately call Kat "Jade" during intimate moments away from his baseball bat and bugging apparatus.

But, there may be fresh trouble in Pipe Dream City.

Source reports that Kat Pellicano now has reservations about the idea of Fiorentino depicting her in a movie because she reportedly exclaimed, "Her [Fiorentino's] ass got f---ing fat!"

And to add insult to the injurious derailment of Fiorentino's backside and career, Linda McLeroy - a woman identifying herself as Kat Pellicano's "unofficial" manager - indicates that bad blood is flowing again between her "client" and Fiorentino.

Says McLeroy:

"This [the book] is Kat Pellicano's story, not Linda Fiorentino's. From Kat's perspective, Linda is not someone she felt she could trust. Linda Fiorentino is involved in nothing to do with Kat in any way. She will not be in the book... or movie in any way."

McLeroy also tells Hollywood,Interrupted that Kat's book proposal went to the marketplace yesterday (May 30), and that Kat's agent Mary Seymour was already fielding offers.

Calls to Linda Fiorentino, Marty Singer and Kat Pellicano's book agent were not returned by post time.

It would seem - obsessive behavior and fat ass notwithstanding - that Fiorentino is kind of on the right side of things here, and basically doing what you do, Ebner: Expose the 'Bad Guys' - yeah, she sounds a little nutty, but with a certain spin - like the one you put on her here - you could (and I'm sure in some circles, you HAVE) appeared just as obsessed and bug-fuck-nuts... my unsolicited advice: keep your sights/site trained on the real problems - there's certainly plenty of them out there...

Why doesn't all this bullshit stop by serving the taxpayers of California and simply sending Pellicano an dhis cohort Paul Barresi to the Gas Chambers at San Quintin?
