I am assuming the edition of Panorama in question was intended as an overview of scientology. In light of the events that occurred during filming, what the documentary best illustrates is the level that the organisation will stoop to when people attempt to investigate them.
Seen in context, Sweeny's blow-up is understandable. He was constantly followed by envoys from the church who took every opportunity to engage him in that passive aggressive manner that scientologists have about them. This cumulative style of mental guerrilla warfare, where the pressure is never let off, reminds me of the way that small children will fray the tempers of their parents in public situations. It takes a strong person not to be overwhelmed by it.
Firefox's spell checker wants me to spell scientology with a capital letter.

I think we can all agree that the best part of this post is the picture of Travolta.

Hi Mark. S and I just listened to your radio interview. Nice job.
When will the BBC "Panorama" episode air here in the states?
Regards Travolta, I appreciate you handling this with kid gloves. Even if Travolta is fucking up his kid, he is the parent, and he is probably doing the best that he knows how. To your knowledge, are any of the things that scientology does for autism helpful? Is there any component of what the Travoltas are doing for their autistic son that might help him get better? (e.g., If they are sincere about helping their child, they are probably using some alternative, scientologist brand of therapy. Perhaps they are broadcasting some kind of verbal cues to him through those headphones.) After your careful analysis, do you think it is possible that the Travoltas are flat out neglecting their child? If their son does indeed have a neurological disorder, can therapies not allowed by scientology help him? What are these? Please give us a list.
Thank you for agreeing that the drugs can be harmful. You are bravely fighting a totalitarian regime, but you are doing it with reason. Keep it up. Great radio interview. Send me an email. We need to finish that conversation...
By the way, who is Keith Henson? Can you share his story here? Is he in jail now?
